Developing Disciples One Verse At a Time
"...through whom (our Lord Jesus Christ) also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exalt in hope of the glory of God."  Romans 5:2 NAS
The Lord asked His disciples that same question in Matthew 16:15. He said, “Who do you say that I am?” Your answer to that question determines your eternal destiny. The Bible gives us a very emphatic answer to that question. In no uncertain terms, the Bible proclaims that Jesus Christ is God. John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Speaking of Christ here as “the Word,” the Bible tells us that Christ was and is, God. In John 10:30 Jesus claimed fully equality with God the Father when He said, “I and the Father are one.”

As God, it was Christ Who created us. We are not the products of random chance as some would have us to believe. Colossians 1:16 says, “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities- all things were created through him and for him.” Because He created us, Christ has sovereign right over all things. He is God and He is Lord over all.

He is also perfectly holy. Isaiah 6:3 says, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” God is perfectly holy. Because He is perfectly holy, the standard to enter His Heaven is perfection.  (Click icon above to read more.)
